In 2025, the Heinemeyer family decided to build a new ship: the stern of the GMS Donau was completely rebuilt using state-of-the-art technology and new living comforts.
‘Make two out of one propeller!’ was the motto for the new build, which we also followed on Facebook for the MSG community. The father-son team Heinemeyer from KV Donau/Tauern in the MSG fleet reported on exciting details. ‘This design makes it possible to sail safely even at low draught. Among other things, because one large propeller is replaced by two smaller ones.
Technical test runs will start shortly, before the MSG returns to Europe’s rivers!
